Nitish takes oath for the ninth term as Bihar CM

Patna: Nitish Kumar, the president of Janata Dal (United), who dumped his party’s alliance with Lalu Yadav’s RJD, resigned earlier in the day assumed office as Chief Minister of Bihar for an unprecedented ninth term at a swearing in ceremony on Sunday.

Nitish and his JDU is now officially part of the BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ruling at the Centre.

Along with Nitish Kumar, BJP leaders Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha also took oath as cabinet ministers.

The oath of office was administered by Bihar Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at Rajbhawan.

In addition to Nitish Kumar, Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha , also sworn in as Ministers are Prem Kumar, Vijay Chaudhary, Vijendra Yadav, Shravan Kumar, Santosh Kumar, and Sumit Singh. Fou of them are members from JDU, three members from BJP, one from Hindustani Awam Morcha, and one is an independent MLA.

Notable figures such as Bihar Legislative Council chairman Devesh Chandra Thakur, BJP national president J.P. Nadda, Union Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras, HAM national president Jitan Ram Manjhi, LJP (Ramvilas) national president Chirag Paswan, JDU MP Lalan Singh, BJP leaders Mangal Pandey and Rajiv Pratap Rudi, former MLC Ranvir Nandan, along with several other dignitaries were present at the oath-taking ceremony at Raj Bhavan.
