Schedule for Phase I of Lok Sabha election has been notified

New Delhi: The President of India has, by notification issued under sub-section (2) of Section
14 of the Representation of People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951) and published in the Gazette of India on Wednesday 20 March, called upon each of the parliamentary constituencies, specified in the
Schedule below, in the States or Union Territories to elect members to the House of the People (Lok Sabha), in accordance with the provisions of the Representation of People Act of 1951 and of the rules and orders made thereunder

Therefore, in pursuance of Sections 30 and 56 of the Representation of People Act of 1951, the Election Commission of India has appointed for the purpose of the election, from each of the parliamentary constituencies the following:

(a) Thursday 28 March, 2024 as the last date for making nominations for Bihar and the
Wednesday 27 March, 2024, as the last date for making nomination for Arunachal Pradesh,
Assam, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram,
Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal,
Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep and Puducherry;
(b) Saturday 30 March, 2024, as the date for scrutiny of nominations for Bihar and Thursday 28 March, 2024, for scrutiny of nominations for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep and Puducherry;
(c) Tuesday 02 April, 2024, as the last date for withdrawal of candidatures for Bihar and Saturday 30 March, 2024, as the last date for withdrawal of candidatures for Arunachal Pradesh,
Assam, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep and Puducherry;
(d) the date specified in the SCHEDULE below, as the date on which a poll shall, if
necessary, be taken in the parliamentary constituencies, specified in the corresponding entry of the Schedule; and
(e) Thursday 06 June, 2024, as the date before which the election shall be completed in all the
above mentioned parliamentary constituencies; and
(B) Fixes the hours specified in the Schedule, as the hours during which the poll shall, if
necessary, be taken in the constituencies, on the date specified against such constituency for the above election.
