Bhopal: Mohan Yadav, Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister for Higher Education in the outgoing Shivraj Singh Chouhan Government will be sworn in as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister.

The BJP State legislature Party met here today and unanimously elected other backward caste MLA, Mohan Yadav, as leader to head the new BJP government in Madhya Pradesh.

On Sunday, tribal leader, Vishnu Deo Sai, who won the Kunkuri seat in the Surguja division, was elected as leader of the BJP legislative party in the Chhattisgarh assembly on Sunday. He will take oath as Chhattisgarh CM on Wednesday.

Mohan Yadav is a low profile MLA from the OBC community and was State Higher Education Minister till now. He has deep roots in RSS and has entered politics after playing an active role in ABVP – the students wing of the BJP. His selection for the top post is obviously a decision of PM Modi, who has chosen to counter all Opposition, especially Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who has been crying hoarse for the cause of the OBCs. This move will even leave a loud message to the so- called third force that has ruled Uttar Pradesh and Bihar for long years from Lalu Yadav and Mulayam Singh Yadav days. Within the BJP also the message is clear that there is no room at the top for those who have skeletons in the cupboard and are considered heavyweights because of the following they have built for themselves in their respective turfs. The party has decided to put down all excessive baggage and distance itself from the tainted as it gets set for the 2024 election with a clean slate.
Yadav is an MLA from Ujjain – the city of lord Mahakal. The area is dominated by OBCs and SCs. With his selection for the top post in the central Indian State of Madhya Pradesh, BJP under Modi has also scripted a definite narrative. Mohan Yadav’s elevation is a definite message to the deprived and under-privileged sections that democracy, with BJP at the helm, is not for a select few but also for the ordinary and general public for whom there will always be a place at the top and every chance to rise. Modi himself is an example who rose from a humble background to become the Prime Minister of India.
