Atlanta killings: Shooting suspect says he was sexually addicted

Atlanta: Within hours of the killing of eight people at three metro spas in Cherokee County and northeast Atlanta in the US, 21-year old Robert Aaron Long, the accused in the three shootings was arrested and taken into custody by the Police late on Tuesday night (16 March 2021).

Six of the 8 killed in the shooting spree were of Asian descent.

South Korean Foreign Ministry told media that at least four of the eight victims were of Korean descent.

Long has been charged with eight counts of murder and one count of aggravated assault. 

During his interview, he gave no indicators that this was racially motivated – Cherokee Sheriff Frank Reynolds.

Long said during questioning that it was not race hatred but a sexual addiction that had led him to the alleged crime spree, according to the Police.

He has taken responsibility for the shootings….massage parlors represented a temptation he wanted to eliminate – Capt. Jay Baker with the Cherokee sheriff’s office.

Long was sexually addicted and wanted to drive to Florida and commit similar crimes, it has been reported.
