Madhya Pradesh will lead in the sphere of Green Energy: Shivraj Singh Chouhan

CM at Mumbai-green energyMumbai: Chief Minister of the central Indian State of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that Madhya Pradesh will become number one state in the field of green energy in the country.

Efforts are being undertaken by the state government to encourage different organisations and people and ensure a quantum shift when it comes to production and reliance on renewable sources of energy. This was underscored by Chouhan while addressing investors during a road show held here on Friday to attract investment in the renewable energy sector.

The Chief Minister said that the state government wants to work as a team with the investors for rapid development and progress of the State. Green energy is the energy of future, he said adding a 750 megawatt solar power plant, the biggest in the world, is being set up in Rewa with an investment of Rs. Rs. 4500 crore. He urged the companies working in the field of green energy to invest in Madhya Pradesh.

Minister for Commerce and Industry Rajendra Shukla said historic work has been done in the field of renewable energy during last few years and urged the investors to become a partner of the state in the field of green energy.

Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy (Independent Charge) Harsh Singh, Chairman of the Energy Development Corporation Vijendra Singh Sisodiya and Chief Secretary Antony D’sa were present. Principal Secretary New and renewable Energy Manu Shrivastava gave a presentation on the work being carried out in the field of renewable energy in the state.
