Two suspected Al Qaeda terrorists nabbed by UP Police

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested two suspected Al Qaeda terrorists in Lucknow on Sunday 11 July.


Briefing media-persons, Uttar Pradesh Additional Director General of POlice (Law and Order) said: “ATS UP has busted a big terror module. The ATS team has nabbed two terrorists linked with al-Qaeda’s Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. A cache of arms and explosive materials has been seized”. The terror operatives were having their handlers in Peshawar and Quetta in Pakistan.

It is learnt that an IED explosive, a pistol and a pressure cooker bomb were recovered by the Police.

Their accomplices in Lucknow, Kanpur were also involved. Minhaz Ahmad and Maseeruddin, were playing a leading role in subversive activities.
