Reject those nurturing hatred and separatism

Rajiv Lochan

Reject those who are nurturing hatred and separatism around the false claims of Muslim persecution in India. Reject Muslim Exclusivism.

In 1947 a country was created for Muslims. That was Pakistan. It is the only country in the world, apart from Israel, created for a people of a religion.

Those who continued to live in India, whether Hindus, Sikhs, Parsis, Jains, Sikhs, and even Muslims, committed themselves to live together.

The Muslims who chose to live in India rejected pan Islamism, the idea that there is a single world of Islam which exists over and above India, and they rejected the idea that Allah or his word would provide the only valid guidance for life. Yet, the Congress eco-system that dominated India went out of its way to nurture various sorts of separatism.

Sikh separatism that was created by Indira Gandhi resulted in decade long blood shed. Finally it was the people of Punjab, Sikhs and Hindus, who came together to make Sikh separatism irrelevant. They publicly, vociferously, in numerous ways, rejected Sikh separatism. Muslim separatism, however, was used by Indira Gandhi and her successors to poison the minds of Muslims against India. Unfortunately for the Congress system the Muslims cottoned on to the tricks being played on them. Most of them withdrew their support to the Congress. But some of them gravitated towards pan-Islamism once again. Today the LeLi (Left-Liberal) intellectuals of India, the ones who claim to be Left but are not, the ones who claim to be Liberal but are not, have been nurturing, justifying and promoting the cause of Muslim separatism. Once in a while a good, intelligent and caring person like Zafarul-Islam Khan gets carried away by such nurturing and goes out of his way to invite the Muslims of Arabia to teach the Hindus of India a lesson. He makes some generic claims about Hindus troubling Muslims. These are the same false claims that have been spread by the LeLi people of India ever since Narendra Modi became Prime Minister.

Poor Zafarul who took “LeLi gyanis” too seriously

Rajiv Lochan

Poor Zafarul-Islam Khan. He desperately needs a jadu ki jhappi (magic hug) rather than a slap on the face. Right now he seems to be up for the high jump with people insisting that he has done a grievous wrong by requesting Arab countries to intervene to save and protect the Muslims of India.

72 years of age, from one of the most privileged families, long-time owner and editor of one of the most readable of weekly journals brought out for the Muslims of India, completely overwhelmed by what he imagines is the oppression of the Muslims of India. Lives in an imaginary world of his own in which, according to his imagination, his powerful and revengeful friends, the Muslim Arabs, will step over and give the presumably hurtful Hindus a hiding, teach them to not oppress Muslims.

Poor Zafarul got carried away by all the hatred being spewed by the Leli gyanis (Left-Liberal intellectuals). He took it for real when the LeLi manufactured false stories about how Muslims in India are oppressed. In his old age Zafarul could not understand the pernicious agenda of the LeLis. They want to break up India. They want Hindus and Muslims and Christians and Sikhs and tribals and non-tribals to kill each other. Then the LeLis could tut tut over those killings. When everyone starts attacking everyone else the LeLis would also get a chance to run their protection racket once again, the protection racket that allowed the Congress to rule over India for a good 60 years.

All through the 1980s till day before yesterday, the LeLi gyanis were telling us that there is nothing called a ‘Hindu’. The Indian LeLi, not particularly bright, desperate to find approval with the LeLi white people, eagerly created an imaginary structure of India in which Hindus did not exist but still oppressed sundry minorities. For the LeLis, minorities was merely a code word for Muslims.

Then Indians elected Narendra Modi as PM. It became impossible to continue to hold the view that there was no entity called Hindus. Since then they have begun a sustained hate campaign against Hindus. This hate campaign is much simpler in its parameters. It insists that Hindus are bad because they exist. Till now Hindus were considered to be bad because they had something called ‘caste oppression’ and were supposed to ‘ill-treat’ their women. If you recall your lessons of history from school, this was also the content of the so-called Indian Renaissance of the 19th century– that Hindus do caste oppression and ill-treat their women. The ideal form of existence, of course, was England/America/France.

Look at poor Zafarul and his unfortunate rant. He is 72, is the son of a very privileged family, yet when he wants to seek justice, the only thing he can think of is the Arabs intervening in India. He can’t even imagine himself, his Muslim friends, standing up and telling those who are ill treating them to not do so. After all, when they do make that statement they will have to actually spell out the nature of the ill treatment. And, surprisingly, there is none.

Postscript (Newsroom24x7):  A first information report (FIR) has been registered against Khan under Indian Penal Code sections 124 A (sedition) and 153 A (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony.

Zafarul-Islam Khan needs to apologise publicly

Rajiv Lochan

Zafarul-Islam Khan needs to apologise publicly for his foolish stance of creating ill-will between people in India.

‘Muslims’ standing with ‘Muslims’ amounts to ‘Muslims’ standing against everyone else. That is what the lived experience of India tells us. Now the Chair of the Delhi Minorities Commission propagates the same. Could it be that the very idea that Muslims are a ‘minority’ in India is flawed and that idea promotes separatism among Muslims, promotes a feeling of disaffection against everyone else in India, nurtures a feeling of hurt and victimhood that disallows Muslims from growing? After all, in India there are tens of communities that are very small in size. Often we have heard of Jains, Parsis, Chettis, as ‘successful’ groups. But we also have ‘brahmins’, who are negligible in number, not very rich and yet without a sense of victimhood.

Arab countries and most Muslim countries understand this. They also understand that the Muslims of India ARE NOT a persecuted people. Rather, that in India the Muslims are the most pampered people who are given tremendous support from all sides. Kuwait and other countries have not fallen into the Islamist trap that was created by the Islamist in India and their Leli (Left-Liberal) henchmen.

It is rather simple and has been so since the Muslim League created Pakistan for Muslims while Bharat/India/Hindustan consciously refused to be a country for ‘Hindus’ but insisted that the proper destiny for a country is to be for all the people. The Constitution makers of India debated the possible identities that Bharat should adopt and consciously chose the position that a country should be for all people and not for only one or the other religion. This itself was an amazing step since a large number of successful countries in the world had adopted one or the other religion.
Zafarul-Islam Khan, it seems, has come forward to promote separatism in India. Why would he want to do that? Why such wilful ignorance of the way India is? Why this great desire to single out Muslims from the generality of Indians? Why to feign hurt and blame others?
The people of India have been kind enough and understanding enough to even put behind that stupid behaviour of the Markaz of the Tablighi Jamaat. That has been the source of 54% of all infections in Haryana as reported by Bhartesh Singh Thakur. Every person in Haryana is suffering seriously because of the stupid behaviour of the Tablighis. Yet, no one has even thought of hurting them for harming every Haryanavi. Rather, the belief is that these were ignorant people, driven by their foolish commitment to a bad leadership.
