Hoshangabad will be renamed as Narmadapuram

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that the name of Hoshangabad district headquarters will now be Narmadapuram.

The Chief Minister made this announcement on Friday 19 February on the occasion of Narmada Jayanti.

The Chief Minister observed the auspices occasion by performing abhishek and aarti of Ma Narmada alongwith his wife Ms Sadhana Singh at the Sethani Ghat at Hoshangabad. 

The Chief Minister later observed while talking to media-persons “For how long we can allow Hoshangabad to be identified with Hoshang Shah who was a robber and had destroyed our temples.”

Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh has invited bitter criticism after he responded to the Chief Minister’s announcement by dubbing it as “drama”. He also threw a poser saying will it create jobs and improve the economy.

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has tested positive for COVID-19.

This was announced by Chirayu Medical College and Hospital here on Saturday 25 July.

A Health Bulletin released by Dr Ajay Goenka on behalf of Chirayu Hospital at 3 pm on Saturday said that the Chief Minister has tested COVID-19 positive. All required tests have been conducted and the Chief Minister’s condition is normal, the bulletin said.

After being tested positive with Corona, Chief Minister Chouhan has said that people who have recently come in his contact must get tested for Corona virus. There is no need to panic. Corona positive people are getting good treatment everywhere and also getting good results. Everyone must take precautions and get their tests done if they are having any symptoms.

The Chief Minister said in a statement that he was following all Corona related guideline and would quarantine himself and avail treatment as advised by the doctor.

Chief Minister has said that Corona review meetings have been held daily since he took over as Chief Minister. He will try to review the Corona situation through video conferencing as far as possible. In his absence, regular meetings will be taken by Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra, Urban Development and Administration Minister Bhupendra Singh, Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang and Health Minister Dr. Prabhu Ram Choudhary.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has appealed to the people of the state to remain cautious as even the slightest callousness could invite Corona. Everyone must take precaution, be safe and follow the guidelines.

The Chief Minister has been admitted for treatment in Covid Dedicated Hospital, Chirayu Medical College. Patients of other diseases are also admitted in AIIMS and Hamidia Hospital, Bhopal. Chief Minister has been admitted in Chirayu Medical College so that common people do not face any difficulty in the main referral hospitals.

Bhopal: Anandiben Patel, who took oath as Madhya Pradesh Governor on Wednesday 1 July will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the new Ministers who will be inducted in the Shivraj Singh Chouhan led State Council of Ministers on Thursday.

Ms. Patel was administered the oath as Madhya Pradesh Governor by Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court Ajay Kumar Mittal at a brief yet dignified ceremony at the Raj Bhavan in the State capital. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, former CM Kamal Nath and top bureaucrats were present. The programme was conducted by Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains.

Uttar Pradesh Governor Patel has been given additional charge of Madhya Pradesh as Lalji Tandon is indisposed and hospitalised in Lucknow.
