Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan tests positive for COVID -19

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has tested positive for COVID-19.

This was announced by Chirayu Medical College and Hospital here on Saturday 25 July.

A Health Bulletin released by Dr Ajay Goenka on behalf of Chirayu Hospital at 3 pm on Saturday said that the Chief Minister has tested COVID-19 positive. All required tests have been conducted and the Chief Minister’s condition is normal, the bulletin said.

After being tested positive with Corona, Chief Minister Chouhan has said that people who have recently come in his contact must get tested for Corona virus. There is no need to panic. Corona positive people are getting good treatment everywhere and also getting good results. Everyone must take precautions and get their tests done if they are having any symptoms.

The Chief Minister said in a statement that he was following all Corona related guideline and would quarantine himself and avail treatment as advised by the doctor.

Chief Minister has said that Corona review meetings have been held daily since he took over as Chief Minister. He will try to review the Corona situation through video conferencing as far as possible. In his absence, regular meetings will be taken by Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra, Urban Development and Administration Minister Bhupendra Singh, Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang and Health Minister Dr. Prabhu Ram Choudhary.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has appealed to the people of the state to remain cautious as even the slightest callousness could invite Corona. Everyone must take precaution, be safe and follow the guidelines.

The Chief Minister has been admitted for treatment in Covid Dedicated Hospital, Chirayu Medical College. Patients of other diseases are also admitted in AIIMS and Hamidia Hospital, Bhopal. Chief Minister has been admitted in Chirayu Medical College so that common people do not face any difficulty in the main referral hospitals.

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath was operated on his little finger at Hamidia hospital, the main referral hospital in the State capital today,  22 June 2019.

According to the Dean of Gandhi Medical College, Dr Ms Aruna Kumar, the surgery was conducted in the operation theater on the fourth floor of the OPD by the head of Orthopedics Department Dr Sanjeev Gaur and head of the Anesthesia department Dr Aditya Agrawal.

The Chief Minister on Friday had gone to the Hamidia Hospital for a check up and on doctor’s advice did not attend the Yoga Day programme.

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath Monday, 10 June 2019, was administered the oath as Member of Madhya Pradesh Assembly by Narmada Prasad Prajapati, the Assembly Speaker.

Nath has won the by-election to the Chhindwara Assembly constituency. This election was held simultaneously with the just concluded Lok Sabha election.

In a brief ceremony held in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Legislative Council Hall, the Chief Minister took oath as Member of the State Assembly. Deputy Speaker Hina Kanwre, Leader of the Opposition Gopal Bhargava and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr. Govind Singh attended the swearing-in ceremony. Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, office-bearers of Congress Committee and senior officers were present on the occasion.

Impressive show of strength and unity in Bhopal ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha election


Bhopal: Kamal Nath, a former Union Minister, and a close associate of Sanjay Gandhi and confidante of the Gandhi family, was today (17 December 2018) sworn-in as the 18th Chief Minister of the Central Indian State of Madhya Pradesh.

In Jaipur, earlier today, Ashok Gehlot was sworn-in as Chief Minister and Sachin Pilot as Deputy Chief Minister of Rajsthan.

At another swearing-in ceremony at Raipur,  Bhupesh Baghel took the oath as Chhattisgarh chief Minister.

Within hours of being sworn-in as Chief Minister, the Madhya Pradesh Government, led by Kamal Nath, issued orders waiving all farm loans up to Rs. 2 lakh borrowed from nationalised and cooperative banks till March 31 2018. This is a major step towards meeting the poll promises. The Congress party had announced that farm loans would be waived within 10 days of the Congress coming to power in the State.

State Governor Anandiben Patel administered the oath of office and secrecy at 2.30 pm at an impressive public ceremony held at the huge Jambori Maidan (ground) near BHEL on the outskirts of new Bhopal. The ground was bursting at the seams with Congress supporters turning up in huge numbers form all parts of the State to attend the ceremony. In the state capital, all roads today led to the Jambori Maidan.

Dignitaries, especially present on the stage, included Congress President Rahul Gandhi, former Prime Ministers Manmohan Singh and H.D. Deve Gowda, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, Karnataka Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Puducherry V. Narayansamy, senior Congress leader and former chief minister Digvijay Singh, former Union Ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia and Suresh Pachouri, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who has ceased to be the State Chief Minister after serving for three consecutive terms, ex-Chief Minister Babulal Gaur, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah. Also present on this occasion were former JDU president Sharad Yadav, President of the Nationalist Congress Party Sharad Pawar and his senior party colleague Praful Patel.

Besides Congress President Rahul Gandhi, who had addressed several election rallies in the State, the main architects of the Congress victory in the just concluded Madhya Pradesh Assembly election are Kamal Nath, who had led the Congress campaign in his capacity as State Congress President, along with party’s Campaign Committee chief Jyotriaditya Scindia and former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh.
