They cheated innocents citzens by fraudulently obtaining their credit or debit card details
New Delhi: A gang of inter-Sate cheats has been busted by the Delhi police after an E-Commerce Company lodged a complaint with the police alleging that that some persons were duping unsuspecting citizens and spoiling the company’s goodwill by booking online mobile phones by using details of credit and debit cards, obtained fraudulently from them.
The Police also receive information that by adopting the same modus operandi these persons had ordered for the delivery of I-Phone 6 from the Main Market at Defence Colony here.
The Police laid a trap in the Defence Colony market and caught three accused Amit Jajoria, Sandeep Sharma, Bhanu Pandey, while they were taking delivery of I-Phone6 (64 GB) on a fake ID. Two of their associates Deepak Sharma and Pankaj Mehra managed to flee from the spot. During investigation, it was revealed that the I-Phone had been booked by the accused through the complainant’s E-Commerce Portal and payment had been made by using the credit card of a person employed in an IT Company. The details of the credit card were obtained by the accused persons, masquerading as tele-callers.
Further investigation is in progress to arrest the absconding co-accused and to link the recovered cheated property. Cases of cheating relating to Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad are also likely to be solved with these arrests.
