Indore: Union Minister for Urban Development Venkaiyah Naidu today said that continuous power supply and good roads and adequate availability drinking water has made Madhya Pradesh a very special State.

key-investiment-proposalsMr. Naidu was addressing the concluding session of the 2-day Global Investors Meet here today. He said that Madhya Pradesh was earlier called a BIMARU State but this is now a thing of the past. Madhya Pradesh has become a leading state in the last one decade. Availability of 18,900 megawatt electricity in the State is a record, he said adding adequate power is now available to all the sectors. Madhya Pradesh is also leading in the agriculture sector and has become an ideal destination for investment.

On this occasion Union Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj said that as a result of constant efforts Madhya Pradesh has become most favourite state for investment. The Minister said that development has taken place in Madhya Pradesh due to better leadership and public-centric policies. The growth rate of the state is above 10 percent. Programmes like Make in India, Digital India, Clean India, Start Up India, and Smart City have been launched in India to face challenges of 21st century. The world bank has termed Indian economy as the most open economy. International Monetary Fund has termed Indian economy for the year 2016-17 as the fastest developing economy in the world. GST has been passed in 23 states. She said that foreign direct investment worth ₹ 55.5 million dollars has been received in India after the formation of the NDA Government at the Centre led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Expressing gratitude towards all the investors, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Investors are honourable partners in the development of Madhya Pradesh. He said this summit has become strong platform for business dialogues with the government. Thirty online proposals have been received during the summit and land will be allotted to them shortly. Chouhan informed that 2630 investors have given proposals worth ₹. 56284.7 million during the Indore summit.

Indore: Captains of industry, both from India and abroad, attending the inaugural session of Global Investors Summit 2016 here today appreciated Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s efforts to systematically promote the growth of industry in the State.

The speakers lauded the initiative in the form of the series of investors’ summits organised by the State and described it as an honest effort for sustainable development and for generating employment for the youth, promotion of agriculture through agri-based business and industries, tourism, textile and information technology, automobile and other sectors.

22 speakers addressed the inaugural function focusing the scene prevailing earlier in Madhya Pradesh and the special efforts and decisions taken for development in the last one decade.

On this occasion, Union finance minister Arun Jaitley and Union Communication and IT minister Ravishankar Prasad embraced Chouhan when he concluded his speech. Jaitley recalled the time when he was organisation in-charge of Madhya Pradesh and faced difficulties in travelling from Bhopal to Indore by road. Jaitley also spoke of the commitment and efforts made by the Chief Minister Chouhan to ensure the State achieves all round progress.

President of Aditya Birla Group Kumar Mangalam Birla described his experience of investment in Madhya Pradesh as pleasant. ADAG Reliance Group president Anil Ambani said Madhya Pradesh is an ideal destination for investment. Sun Pharmaceutical MD Dilip Sanghvi expressed the desire to increase investment in MP. Speaking highly of the rate of economic growth of Madhya Pradesh, which is more than other states, Patanjali Ltd chief Swami Ramdev talked of investment schemes that would provide benefit to 10,000 farmers in MP. Hyderabad: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today addressed industrialists here and in Bengaluru and urged them to come and invest in the central Indian State of Madhya Pradesh.

Chouhan told the industrialists that Madhya Pradesh is an ideal destination for investment, given its central location and wide-ranging opportunities. He focussed attention on the double digit growth rate of the state and particularly highlighted the agriculture growth rate which is above 20 percent.

He utilised this occasion to extend invitation to the industrialist, representatives of different companies to attend the Global Investors Summit being held in Indore on October 22-23.

A total of one lakh kilometer of roads have been constructed and there has been record increase in irrigation command area, the chief minister said adding Madhya Pradesh is a power surplus State and has better infrastructure facilities compared to many other states. The law and order situation is also under control in the State.

Chouhan talked of Madhya Pradesh’s high growth trajectory and said that the state has shed the BIMARU tag derived from the clubbing together of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh -States that symbolised backwardness and poverty for long years. Today the state boasts of skilled resource and also the Indira Sagar reservoir, which is the largest fresh water body in the country. The chief minister went on brief the industrialists about the immense potential in the tourism sector and the new Tourism Policy approved the other day by the Tourism Cabinet of Madhya Pradesh.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the USNew York: Coinciding with the second India-US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue (S&CD) in New Delhi which was joined by India’s Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj, Minister for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Stharaman, US Secretary of State John Kerry, Secretary of Commerce, Penny Pritzker, Cyrus Mistry of the Tata Group and David Cote of Honeywell, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan began the third day of his US visit on Tuesday by reaching out to the captains of industry and inviting them to become partners in the industrial development of Madhya Pradesh.

Interacting with investors and CEOs of US companies in New York on Tuesday, Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh has become a fast track State when it comes to industrial development and all necessary infrastructure is being developed to accelerate industrial growth and promote new industries in 20 new industrial areas in the State.

Speaking of visible change in the overall scenario over the last one decade, the Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh has become the first choice of investors. He said that the State Government treats investors as partners in the process of development. Minister for Industries Rajendra Shukla and senior officials were present.

Welcoming investors to Madhya Pradesh, Chouhan assured them that there would be no hurdles in their way. The State Government intends to give the young manpower opportunities of growth through industrial development. For achieving this goal, they are being equipped with skills and are also being oriented for entrepreneurship.

Chouhan invited the prospective investors to the Global Investors’ Summit to be held at Indore later in October this year.

The Chief Minister held discussions about investment in the state in sectors like education, Information Technology, Public Service, construction engineering, biotechnology.

Arceus Infotech Private Limited has shown interest in setting up a development center in Bhopal. The US Technology International Private Limited also expressed willingness to invest Rs. 400 crore for setting up IT Campus at Bhopal. The US major in IT and food sector – LT Foods and its vendors are also willing to invest.

International Research Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. is willing to expand its operation in the State to address cataract blindness as a key player in the global blindness eradication campaign ‘Help Me See’.

RMC, USA, which deals in building materials for the construction of residential and commercial supplies also showed interest.

American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin – held discussion on widening its network in Madhya Pradesh.

US-India Business Council

The Chairman of US India Business Council Mukesh Aghi met the Chief Minister and discussed the future strategies to enhance bilateral trade between US and India.

The Council was formed for trade collaboration between The Governments of the US and India. The India-US business ties is a leading business consulting organization. The USIBC is the largest bilateral trade organization, which includes representatives of the American and Indian companies.

‘Friends of MP’ Forum

Addressing the ‘Friends of MP’ Forum, Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh Government is seeking value-based citizen participation. This initiative, he said intends to bring at one place knowledge, expertise and people. It helps NRIs to stay connected to their homeland. Also, it serves as a useful platform where friends of Madhya Pradesh and policymakers can join hands.
