New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation conducted searches at Pune and Panvel in Maharashtra at the premises of two persons in an on-going investigation into the alleged murder of Dr. Narendra Dabholkar, a resident of Pune.
CBI had registered a case on 9 May 2014 on a Bombay High Court order issued the same day in response to a Criminal Public Interest Litigation and taken up the investigation of the Dr.Narendra Dabholkar murder case which was initially registered at Deccan Police Station in Pune.
It was alleged that two un-identified persons aged about 25 to 30 years, of medium height, had fired bullets and killed Dr. Narendra Dabholkar, while he was taking a morning walk on footpath of Omkareshwar Bridge near Balgandharv Rangmandir in Pune. The two assassins had fled from the spot on a motorcycle.
Certain documents, mobile numbers, and E-mails recovered during searches, are being scrutinised. A Red Corner Notice had been issued by the Interpol against against a person in the Goa Blast Case of 2009.
