Shivraj Singh Chouhan to launch website “Friends of MP” in New York

nrisBhopal, Jan. 20: Madhya Pradesh government has taken the lead in creating Global Talent Pool to actively associate NRIs and well wishers of Madhya Pradesh in different countries and outside Madhya Pradesh with the process of state’s development and progress. “Friends of MP” website has been developed as part of this endeavour.

During his America visit, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will launch this website at Friends of MP Convention at New York’sAvery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center Plaza on February 1. The function will be held from 10 am to 1 pm. All friends and well wishers of Madhya Pradesh will be invited to the function.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had advised the State at the Global Investors Summit at Indore recently to create a global talent pool to associate NRIs in the development process and Madhya Pradesh is the first state to take initiative in this direction

The objective of the website is to associate those passionate citizens who can contribute to the development of Madhya Pradesh – aligned to the vision of the Prime Minister. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has called upon Madhya Pradesh’s people and well wishers living in other countries and outside MP to come forward and contribute to MP’s growth and progress.


AIIMS should become a guiding force for medical sector in country and abroad: Shivraj

Bhopal, Jan. 20: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said that Bhopal’s All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) should become a guiding force for medical sector both in the country and abroad.

Mr. Chouhan was addressing AIIMS foundation day function in the State capital. He also gave away prizes to institute’s talented students in the academic and sports fields.

The Chief Minister said that medical practice is not a profession, but a mission to save life. No service is greater than medical practice, which should be done in right earnest. He said that Bhopal’s AIIMS was a dream of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, which is being realised. AIIMS commands considerable credibility in medical sector. The institute will become a pride of Bhopal and people from other countries will also come here for treatment.

Stressing the importance of research in the medical sector, the chief minister said that students should work with dedication and devotion.

On this occasion, AIIMS Director Prof. Sandeep Kumar presented the annual report and briefed about the available facilities. State BJP President Nand Kumar Singh Chouhan, MP from Bhopal Alok Sanjar, Director of AIIMS Patna Prof. Girish Kumar Singh and AIIMS Jodhpur’s Director Prof. Sanjeev Mishra were also present.



Paddy purchase tax limit increased from Rs. 10 crore to Rs. 50 crore in Madhya Pradesh

paddy riceBhopal, Jan. 18: Madhya Pradesh Government has taken the important decision to raise the tax liability limit on purchase of paddy from Rs. 10 crore to Rs. 50 crore to protct the interests of the farmers producing paddy.

Addressing a meeting with paddy traders at Mantralaya here yesterday, State Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that farmers will be benefited by the government’s decision to hike the tax liability limit. The traders were earlier required to pay tax on crossing the limit of Rs. 10 crore. Since this limit has now been raised to Rs. 50 crore, the offtake of paddy by traders is bound to increase.

The Chief Minister said that all impediments being put by vested interests to block Madhya Pradesh from getting the status of Basmati producing state will be removed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also been requested to accord status of paddy producing state to Madhya Pradesh, Mr. Chaouhan said.

The Chief Minister directed the concerned officials to make arrangements to keep the farmers informed about the rates of paddy. It is the responsibility of mandis to make arrangements and help the farmers in selling their stock of paddy, he emphasised.
