Maoist terror attack: BJP MLA killed in landmine blast in Chattisgarh

Dantevada (Chattisgarh): BJP MLA Bheem Mandavi, three security personal and a driver were killer in a landline blast triggered by Maoists (naxalite dalam) two days before polling for the parliament ary election.

In another terror attack in Kishtwar, J&K, terrorists on Tuesday attacked RSS leader Chandrakant Sharma inside a hospital, where. Sharma worked as medical assistant.

Sharma later succumbed to his injuries. His security guard, a J&K police officer, has been martyred in this terror attack.

26 CRPF personnel killed in Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: At least 26 personnel of the 74th battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were killed and and six others wounded in a dastardly attack by Maosts in the naxalite affacted Sukma district in the South Bastar area of Chhattisgarh State on Monday afternoon.

The Maoists ambushed about a hundred-strong CRPF road opening party on patrol at Burkapal near Chintagufa in south Bastar, one of the worst Maoist violence-affected region in the state. Reports reaching here point out close to 100 CRPF jawans were part of the road opening party when they were attacked

According to Jitendra Shukla, additional superintendent of police, Sukma: “The Maoists ambushed CRPF personnel and started indiscriminate firing.”

Tamil Nadu, MP, UP, AP, Chattisgarh lead in addressing urban poverty

New Delhi: Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Chattisgarh are ahead of other States in implementing Urban Poverty Alleviation Programme during the last three years from 2014 to 2017.

According to the information furnished to Rajya Sabha today by Minister of State for Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation, Tamil Nadu is in the forefront in assisting urban poor with subsidized loans for self-employment through setting up of individual and group micro enterprises and formation of Self-Help Groups under Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana-NULM (DAY-NULM) and Uttar Pradesh led in skilling urban poor. Madhya Pradesh stood second in skill training and providing loans support.

National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM) was launched in September,2016 with the objective of reducing the poverty and vulnerability of urban poor households by enabling them to access gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities for improvements in their livelihoods on a sustainable basis. NULM which was launched in 790 cities and towns in 2013 was subsequently extended to all the statutory 4,041 cities and towns in February, 2016.

During 2014-17, 8,07,187 urban poor were given skill training, 1,35,158 beneficiaries were given subsidized bank loans for setting up own enterprises and 1,62,285 Self-Help Groups have been formed for taking up income augmenting activities with the support of bank loans.

Raipur: Seven CRPF men were killed this afternoon in a huge landmine blast by Maoists in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh.

The  terrorists, locally known as naxalites, targeted security personal returning to their camp from leave and blasted aTata 709 pick up lorry by a landmine near the Basaras-Kuakonda junction in Melawada village around 4 pm.
