New Delhi: While 51.82% estimated voter turnout was registered for phase 2 of general election to the Bihar State Assembly, modest to brisk polling was registered for by elections in Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, Odisha, Telangana anfd Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday 3 November 2020.
In the bye elections to State Legislative Assemblies, Nagaland registered the maximum 83.60% polling, Telangana 811.44%, Chhattisgarh 71.99% and Madhya Pradesh 66.09% voting.
Bhagalpur, Bihar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today took thee reins of BJP’s campaign for Bihar Assembly election by telling the voters at a huge Parivartan rally (rally for change) at Bhagalpur that they now have the opportunity to vote for a government committed to development.
Nobody, Modi said, no alliiance – no matter how big or how many leaders join hands- can stop NDA’s victory march.
The Prime Minister drew attention to a public meeting at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan two days ago and said Jai Prakash Narain (JP), Lohia and Karpuri Thakur were sacrificed at this rally. Lohia had fought against Congress but his followers betrayed him by joining hands with the Congress just to satusfy their hunger for power. He blamed them for betraying JP who was put in jail by the Conngress, said Modi.
The Prime Minister lashed out at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar accusing him of cheating out the people by announcing a Rs. 2.70 lakh crore package. He also described the people of Bihar as most intelligent.
