New Delhi: Eye-brows are being raised in concerned circles since the 7 September order regarding the approval given by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet for appointment of Chairman and other board members of Indian National Space Promotion Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe) that had been put up on the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) website has gone missing.
Newsroom24x7 had published a news item, titled “Proposal to appoint Pawan Kumar Goenka as Chairperson of In-SPACe cleared by ACC” on 9 September. The same news was later published by Times of India, Economic Times and other major sections of media. Strangely the order about the approval by the ACC to the proposal for appointment of Pawan Kumar Goenka and other members of the Board of In-SPACe went missing from the DOPT website on Sunday 12 September.
Questions are being raised in knowledgeable circles about this development and it is also being said that the PMO should intervene and order a probe into this matter that concerns the Department of Space and has a direct bearing on Central Government’s focus and special thrust on the privatisation of India’s space programme.
