New Delhi: Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned till Thursday amid continuous and prolonged disruption by the opposition members for the second consecutive day of the monsoon session on Tuesday 20 July 2021.
Earlier the proceedings were adjourned till 3 pm amid noise and fury as opposition members continued their protest over alleged phone tapping linked with the Pegasus controversy and also inflation and the farmers’ issue.
When proceedings began at 11 am, the House was briefly adjourned due to ruckus created mainly by Congress and Trinamool (TMC) MPs. When proceedings resumed, Opposition members, including those from the Congress, rushed into the well and disrupted the proceedings. In the midst of pandemonium and noisy scenes, papers linked to various ministries and committees were tabled. That’s when the protesting MPs stood right in front of the presiding officer and mounted their protest by raising placards with screaming slogans.
