New Delhi: Rajya Sabha, India’s Council of States or Upper House, on Friday 23 July 2021 suspended All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Dr Shantanu Sen for his unparliamentary behavior on Thursday.
The suspended TMC MP had snatched away from the IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw the statement he was reading in the House on the Pegasus (phone tapping) reports and the resultant controversy. The TMC MP tore apart the statement and flung it towards the Speaker’s chair.
The Lok Sabha, after it passed the motions to elect members for various House committees, was adjourned till Monday in the midst of protest and uproar.
