Lucknow: The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against a Director (Telecom), Research Design and Standards Organization (Ministry of Railways), Manak Nagar, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) and his wife on the allegations of possessing disproportionate assets.
It is alleged that the accused public servant (an officer of IRSSE:2006 Batch), after promotion to the post of Senior Divisional Signal & Telecom Engineer (Sr. DSTE), had served at Eastern Railway, Malda Town (West Bengal) during the period 2015 to 2016. Thereafter, he joined as Joint Director (S&T), Urban Transport & High Speed, RDSO, Lucknow, where he remained posted from 2017 to August, 2018. It is alleged that the Railways officer in question had acquired assets to the tune of about Rs.7.6 million which is said to be disproportionate to his known sources of income during the period from 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2017. It is alleged that during the period under question the accused had acquired immovable & movable assets, amounting to about Rs.8.1 million in his name and in the name of his wife.
Searches were being conducted on Friday 30 July at four locations at Lucknow, Jaunpur and Mau (Uttar Pradesh) in the office & residential premises of the accused. These have led to recovery of several incriminating documents.
