Civil Aviation Minister reviews Air India strategy to improve performance

New Delhi: Minister for Civil Aviation Ashok Gajapathi Raju today reviewed the functioning of Air India with special focus on the strategy to increase its market share of the domestic and international market and improve its financial performance by reducing losses.

During this exercise a presentation was made by Air India CMD, Ashwini Lohani, who explained the initiatives taken recently and the various challenges that the airline was facing in the domestic and international market.

The performance of Air India in comparison with other domestic airlines and the industry as a whole were analysed.

The Minister took a closer look at the status of monetisation by Air India and the hurdles in this regard. He sought information about the operationalization of MRO for advanced aircrafts at Nagpur and Hyderabad.  He also asked the officials of Air India to use the best IT practices to increase the airline’s efficiency.
