Hyderabad: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Assistant Manager, National Institute for Smart Government, Hyderabad (working as State Resource Person – SRP of UIDAI in Jaipur under an MoU of UIDAI with National Institute for Smart Government) along with one more person in a bribery case.
A case was registered against the owner of a private firm based at Jaipur and unknown public servant of UIDAI posted in Delhi and Jaipur on a complaint alleging that the owner of the firm involved had demanded undue advantage of Rs.25,000 from the complainant in the name of the unknown public servants of UIDAI of Jaipurand New Delhi for facilitating the complainant in restoring his Operator ID which was suspended in the month of March, 2021. A trap was laid and the non-official involved was caught while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs.20,000 from the complainant. During investigation, the involvement of the Assistant Manager of National Institute for Smart Government at Hyderabad was detected and he was arrested.
Searches were conducted at the premises of both the accused.
The arrested accused will be produced before the Competent Court today (Friday 9 July 2021).
