Meerut: Four days after arresting weapons trafficker Gagandeep Singh, residing under the Behsuma Police station of Meerut City in Uttar Pradesh, the NIA conducted Searches at Meerut on Saturday 10 July, arrested an arms dealer and seized two country made pistols of 0.315 bore, ten live rounds of 0.315 bore, one mobile phone, two SIM cards and a memory card.
Investigation by NIA had earlier revealed that the arrested accused Gagandeep Singh is a close associate of another accused Arshdeep Singh @ Aarsh, who is a close associate of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a designated terrorist and chief of Khalistan Tiger Force.
Following the search and seizure operation, NIA arrested Mohd. Asif Ali, an arms dealer on on 10 July.
Investigation has revealed that the arrested accused Gagandeep Singh used to purchase arms and ammunition from Mohd. Asif Ali and supplied them to the other arrested accused – Kamaljeet Sharma @ Kamal and his associates. These weapons were used for faith-based targeted killings and for threatening and extorting money from businessmen of Punjab.
On Sunday, July 11, NIA conducted search at the premises of another arms trafficker involved in the case – Paramjit Singh @ Mangal son of Ajit Singh, resident of Dudhali Khadar village falling under Hastinapur Police station of Meerut district. During the search, cash amounting to Rs. Nine Lakhs, mobile phones and incriminating documents
