Jammu: Public Relation Society of India, Jammu and Kashmir chapter organised the “Duggar Pradesh di Shaan” Pride of Jammu event at the Press Club, Jammu on Sunday 19 March to felicitate the profoundly talented personalities of Jammu.

The chief guest of the ceremony was former Deputy Chief Minister of J&K Kavinder Gupta and special guest of the event was Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Board of Secondary Education, Dr Parikshit Singh Manhas.

The event commenced with an introductory address by Vishal Bharti, Executive Member, Press Club, Jammu, and Dinesh Manhotra, Secretary General, Press Club, Jammu.

This was followed by an address by Rakhee Bakshi, Communication Advisor, Indian Institute of Public Administration. She said coming to Jammu was like coming home. She hailed the launch of J&K chapter of PRSI as a positive development.

On this occasion, Dr Jitendra Udhampuri, Padma Shri Prof. Shiv Nirmohi, Padma Shri KB Jandial, retd bureaucrat, Ms Seema Sehgal, famous singer, Ravinder Jamwal, celebrated sculptor, and Abhilasha Bahuguna, Founder and Chief Strategist of Looms of Ladakh, were honoured for their singular contribution in diverse fields.

Members of PRSI J&K chapter, Opinder Sharma, Ms. Harry Walia, Yashwant, Dr. Monisa Qadri, Dr Archana Kumari, Dr Pardeep Singh Bali, Dr Ravia Gupta, Inderjeet Raina and the student volunteers from Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Jammu, and University of Jammu were were felicitated for their hard work.

The event concluded with a melodious and devotional performance by Seema Sehgal and students of IIMC Jammu.
