Sehore (Madhya Pradesh): In Kubereshwar Dham, there was a stampede and a woman died when the situation went out of control due to the surging crowd of devotees who had come here for the Rudraksh Festival.
Anothet woman died in Bageshwar Dham, located on Panna Road near Chhatarpur.
Chaos at Kubereshwar Dham

Questions are being asked on the administrative measures taken to combat any eventuality, because earlier also there had been chaos in Kubereshwar Dham. After Thursday’s incident, people are complaining that no lessons have been learned. They are demanding that those responsible should be held accountable.

Around a million devotees reached Kubereshwar Dham on the first day of Kubereshwar Festival organised for the distribution of 2.4 million Rudraksh. Due to the massive turnout of devotees, there was a stampede-like situation and many persons were injured. Many of them, who were rushed to hospital, were later discharged after first aid.
When the situation went out of control, the administration stopped the distribution of Rudraksh. State Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s visit was also cancelled.
There was heavy rush on the Indore-Bhopal expressway. On the way to Kubereshwar Dham, people were stuck for hours near the Crescent intersection. There was a huge traffic jam and vehicles coming from Indore were blocked for many kilometers.
On Thursday, a woman from Rajasthan died at Bageshwar Dham on Panna road near Chattarpur. The woman was not keeping well for a long time. When someone told her husband about Pandit Dhirendra Shastri, he left for Bageshwar Dham with his ailing wife. At Bageshwar Dham, he got her registered and started waiting for their turn. After they had waited for a long time, the wife passed away.
