Mangaluru/ Bengaluru: Karnataka Director general of police Praveen Sood on Sunday 20 November 2022 described a low-intensity blast in an autorickshaw in Mangaluru on Saturday as an act of terror.
A cooker kept in an auto rickshaw, it has been reported, exploded by mistake. A circuit board has been recovered from the blast debris.
The top cop has tweeted: “It’s confirmed now. The blast is not accidental but an ACT OF TERROR with intention to cause serious damage. Karnataka State Police is probing deep into it along with central agencies.” According to the DGP, the accused, who has been admitted in hospital with brn injuries, could be linked to terrorists.
The accused has been identified as Sharik, who was arrested in 2020 in the Mangaluru graffiti case. He was out on bail.
