New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India will be hearing a PIL seeking identification and deportation of Rohingya-Bangladeshi infiltrators on Friday 30 September.
This petition [WP(C) 924/2017 – Court -13, Item 1] is pending since 2017. The notice in this case has been issued to the Centre and the States but most of the States have failed to respond.
Supreme Court will also hear on Friday the petition for strict and effective population control law [SLP(C) 27597/2019 – Court-1, Item 49]. Population control is in the concurrent list of the constitution, so State Governments also can make population control laws. According to the petitioner, there is a population explosion in the country so law should be made in Parliament to control population
