Students present Startup ideas at workshop organised by “Udgam”- the IEHE Incubation Centre – and IISER

Bhopal: A two-day workshop, organized under the joint aegis of “Udgam” – the Incubation Center of the Institute for Excellence in Higher Education (IEHE) – and Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), concluded here on Friday 26 August 2022. 

On the concluding day of this workshop, the students presented their startup ideas to the subject experts. 

The main ideas in the field of agriculture covered advanced drones, Bharat Kitchen, waterproof-air carrier technology fabric, essential oil, low-cast testing, road accident prevention technology, red line – PCOD. Students made presentations on startup related ideas such as Test Kits, Clothing – Interchangeable Fashion Design, Gravity Fitness Tracker, Biometric Kiosk, Track in fog and Home Medical Care.

Subject experts from IISER who attended the workshop were Dr. Ashish Srivastava, Dr. Mitradeep Bhattacharjee and C.S. Arun Thapar. They appreciated the presentation by the students. The way the students of the institute displayed their willingness to learn in a short time was highly appreciated. While encouraging the students, it was also suggested that their ideas were good but they needed to be converted into a startup in a better way. For example, there could be an alternative to the concept of cloud kitchens in the context of the Bharat Kitchen Idea. Reasonable technical discussions and consultations were also given on Drone and other ideas. Regarding some of the ideas presented by the students during the workshop, subject experts suggested that they should go for patent. They also invited the participants to visit the Incubation Center established at IISER, Bhopal and assured to organize similar events in future also.

Addressing the valedictory session, IEHE Director Dr. Pragyesh Kumar Agrawal was all praise for the participants and called upon everyone to carry forward the initiative of the Incubation Center. He also underscored the need to give wide publicity to “Udgam” – the Institute’s Incubation Center. 

The workshop was conducted by Kanishka Tiwari and Mansi Pare. Vote of thanks was offered by the Incubation Center Nodal Officer Dr. Nidhi Chauhan. 

Faculty members Dr. Ramkrishna Srivastava, Dr. Balwinder Kaur and I.T. In-charge Dr. Amit Kumar Mandle were especially present.

The students who actively participated included Yash Ahuja, Dipansh Shukla, Shreya Sullere, Raj Modi, Ananya Agarwal, Amit Tiwari, Anshul Tiwari, Yogesh Thanwani, Prateek Yadav, Aabhansh Dubey and Adarsh ​​Yadav.
