New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against Narinder Batra, ex- President, Indian Olympic Association (IOA), New Delhi; the former Executive Director, Hockey India, ex-President, Hockey India; former Secretary General, Hockey India, unknown officials of Hockey India and unknown others for committing illegalities for renovation & furnishing of the office of President, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) in the year 2018.

It is alleged that during 2018, the ex-President, Hockey India and the then Secretary General, Hockey India, New Delhi in conspiracy with then President, Indian Olympic Association (IOA), New Delhi & then Executive Director, Hockey India, New Delhi, got executed the work of renovation & furnishing of the office of then President of IOA without prior approval of Executive Board of Hockey India. Further, it is alleged that in order to justify and to cover up the fraudulent expenditure at approval stage, the accused fabricated and falsified the records.

Searches were conducted on Monday 18 July 2022 at offices of Hockey India & Indian Olympic Association in Delhi; residential premises of the accused at New Delhi and Jammu which led to recovery of incriminating documents and records
