New Delhi: Two Muslim men -Mohammad Riaz and Ghouse Mohammad – accused of inflicting multiple injuries and brutally murdering Kanhaiya Lal, at his tailoring shop in Udaipur, Rajasthan on 28 June 2022, over his social media post supporting suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma, have been arrested.
NIA re-registered a case on Wednesday 29 June 2022 against the two accused persons of conspiring, planning and committing the heinous murder of Kanhaiya Lal Telli on 28 June in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
- The case was initially registered as FIR No-81/2022 at Dhanmandi Police Station in Udaipur, Rajasthan on 29 June in this case.
- The arrested accused persons had circulated a video of the criminal act on social media claiming responsibility for the murder in order to trigger panic and strike terror among the masses across the country.
- After the registration of the case, NIA teams reached Udaipur for expeditious investigation of case.
