National Herald case: Rahul Gandhi interrogated by ED; summoned again on 14 June

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was interrogated by the Enforcement Directorate on Monday 13 June over alleged financial irregularities linked with Young Indian that owns the National Herald newspaper, published by the Associated Journals Limited. Rahul Gandhi has been asked to depose before ED again on Tuesday. 

He arrived at the ED office at 11.10 am was questioned by the ED till 9 pm. He landed there accompanied by many party leaders including Priyanka Vadra, his sister. 

Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are among the promoters and shareholders of Young Indian. Even Ms Gandhi was summoned to appear before the ED in this matter but she did not as she has been hospitalized.

Coinciding with Gandhi’s appearance before the ED, the Congress party politicized the matter by organising nationwide protests in support of the first family of Congress and more particularly Rahul Gandhi on Monday.
