New Delhi: There was large scale violence, stone pelting and arson after Friday prayers in several states across the country over BJP’s former spokes-person Nupur Sharma’s Prophet remark.

In Saharanpur, Hathras, Moradabad and Prayagraj in Utar pradesh, protestors even pelted stones at police. In Ranchi in Jharkhand, where one casualty has been reported, the police was also attacked.

In West Bengal, protestors vandalised shops after shop and torched them. They also targeted police vehicles, police stations and also hurled crude bombs.
