New Delhi: Dr Sandhya Bhullar, IAS, Gujarat: 2003, has been appointed as the new Secretary of the National Medical Commission (NMC), the apex medical regulator.
Earlier, Dr RK Vats, IAS 1986: West Bengal, had submitted his resignation as NMC Secretary. He took over this position in 2019 as Secretary Medical Council of India and oversaw the disbanding of MCI and formation NMC.
This year, Dr Bhullar had been appointed the Joint Secretary at the Department of Economic Affairs, Government of India. In 2019 she was appointed as director Department of Health and Family Welfare, under the Central Staffing Scheme.
