Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet on Saturday 26 December approved the Madhya Pradesh Religious Freedom Bill, 2020 which will now be presented in the State Assembly.
The Madhya Pradesh Religious Freedom Bill, 2020 was approved at the virtual meeting of the cabinet presided by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan.
Articles 25, 26, 27 and 28 of the Constitution of India guarantee religious freedom to all citizens of India. The Freedom of Religion Act was passed in the year 1968 in Madhya Pradesh and rules under this Act were made in the year 1969. In the current environment, in order to tackle the situation (problem of love Jihad) the Madhya Pradesh Religious Freedom Bill, 2020 has been cleared by the State Cabinet.
