Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules amended to include Digital Online Media

New Delhi: The Cabinet Secretariat has issued a gazette notification to amend the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961 and entered the sub-heading “DIGITAL ONLINE MEDIA” in THE SECOND SCHEDULE, under the heading “MINISTRY OF INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING (SOOCHANA AUR PRASARAN MANTRALAYA” after entry 22.

The sub-heading DIGITAL ONLINE MEDIA is followed by entry 22A. Films and Audi-Visual programmes made available by online content providers and entry 22B. News and current affairS content on online platforms.

The gazette notification of Monday 9 November 2020 has been issued in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (3) of article 77 of the Constitution. The President has made the latest rules further to amend the Government of India (Allocation of Business Rules, 1961. These rules, to come into force at once, will be called the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Three Hundred and Filly Seventh Amendment Rules 2020.
