Washington DC: After AP and NBC have projected Joe Biden as the winner in the US presidential election.Biden said in a Statement “I’m honoured that you have chosen me to lead our great country”.
“The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not. I will keep the faith that you have placed in me”, Biden said in a tweet.
Before the announcement of Biden’s victory, a Washington Post opinion piece titled “Trump could stay in power even if he doesn’t win the election. The Constitution allows it” goes on to suggest “there are also several mechanisms that are legal and constitutional that could enable Trump to stay in office without actually winning the vote”.
Donald Trump has also tweeted a claim that has been disputed. He has underscored in bold letters:
“THE OBSERVERS WERE NOT ALLOWED INTO THE COUNTING ROOMS. I WON THE ELECTION, GOT 71,000,000 LEGAL VOTES. BAD THINGS HAPPENED WHICH OUR OBSERVERS WERE NOT ALLOWED TO SEE. NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. MILLIONS OF MAIL-IN BALLOTS WERE SENT TO PEOPLE WHO NEVER ASKED FOR THEM!”
