Bhopal: A non-bailable warrant of arrest has been issued against Congress MLA from Bhopal Arif Masood along with six others under Section 153A of IPC for organising a protest at Iqbal maidan in the state capital after a teacher was killed by an “Islamist terrorist” in France.
Section 153A of IPC is applied when someone promotes enmity between different groups on grounds of religion and commits acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony.
The police earlier registered an FIR against Masood and others on the complaint by Deepak Raghuvanshi of Dharma Sanskriti Samiti.
Masood had dubbed the Central and State governments as ‘Hinduwadi’ and criticised them for supporting the French government.
The authorities have also demolished the building of Indira Priyadarshini college being run by Masood at Khanugaon in the catchment of Upper Lake here.
