Mumbai: Navy veteran Madan Sharma was called out of his house, dragged by his collar, kicked and beaten up allegedly by goons of ruling Shiv Sena on Friday September 11 because he had shared some cartoon on Whatsapp.

The BJP MLA of the area concerned came to the 62 year old ex-Naval officer’s rescue, against whom the goondas had also lodged an FIR under the IT Act and the police even landed at his house to arrest him, after he had been kicked, punched and gravely injured.

The veteran Naval officer was rushed to hospital and was hospitalised and kept under observation for the night.
