New Delhi: Rakesh Asthana, IPS (GJ:84), DG, BCAS with additional charge of DG, NCB, was appointed on 17 August to the post of DG, Border Security Force (BSF) in Level-17 the pay matrix from the date of joining the post and up to 31 July 2021, till the date of his superannuation or till further orders whichever is earlier, along with additional charge of DG, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

On August 17, VSK Kaumudi, IPS (AP:86), DG, BPR&D, was appointed to the post of Special Secretary (Internal Security), Ministry of Home Affairs in Level-16 of the pay matrix from the date of joining the post and up to 30 November 2000, i.e. date of his superannuation or till further orders whichever is earlier.

On Monday, Md. Jawed Akhtar, IPS (UP:86), Special DG, CRPF, was appointed to the post of DG, Fire Services, Civil Defence & Home Guard in Level-16 of the pay matrix from the date of joining the post and up to 31 July 2021 i.e. date of his superannuation or till further orders whichever is earlier.

The proposal of Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports for premature repatriation of Inder Dhamija, IFoS (TN:85), Joint Secretary, Department of Sports w.e.f. 24 August 2020 to his parent cadre on the grounds of availing promotion in the cadre was accepted by GoI on Tuesday 18 August.

Ms. Sharmistha Maitra, lDES(2005), who was recommended for Central deputation by the Ministry of Defence, has been selected on Friday 21 August for appointment as Director in the Ministry of Defence, Delhi under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of five years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever event takes place earlier. She may kindly be relieved of her duties immediately with instructions to take up her new assignment
in the Mb Defence.

As per Appointments Committee of the Cabinet directions conveyed in DoP&T’s Circular No. 31412004-EO(MM-l) dated 17th August, 2005, an officer should join the post within three weeks from the date of issue of DoP&T’s appointment order, failing which the process of debarment from the Central Staffing Scheme shall be initiated.
