Lockdown will follow a different pattern after April 14: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the journalists of the state are acting as a bridge between the people and government by disseminating information and news by taking risk of their lives during the Corona crisis. They are boosting morale of the people by their positive news. They are serving the public by following the high standards of journalism.

Chouhan was interacting with the journalists of all divisional headquarters through video conferencing at Mantralaya on Sunday, 12 April 2020. Secretary Public Relations P. Narhari and Director Public Relations O.P. Shrivastava were present.

Lockdown will have a different pattern after April 14

Chief Minister Chouhan said that lockdown will continue in the state even after April 14, but after April 14, the nature of lockdown will be different. During this time procurement, MGNREGA work, small economic activities etc. will be done in areas where there is no infection.

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are fighting the Corona virus with the cooperation of all. He said that we have not won this battle yet, but we have surely controlled the virus. Chouhan said that journalists, health workers, police, administration, sanitation workers, and social organizations all are fighting this battle by risking their lives.

Three-tier strategy

Chouhan said that a three-tier strategy is being adopted in the state to fight Coronavirus. At the first level, arrangements are being made in big cities like Indore and Bhopal, the two cities that account for about 80% of the total corona infection cases in the state. At the second level, work is being done in 20 districts, where corona patients have been found. All infected areas have been completely sealed, so that the infection does not spread to other places. At the third level, there are 30 districts of the state without any infection yet. Full efforts are being made to ensure that Corona infection does not spread in these districts.

Testing facility in private medical colleges

The Chief Minister said that when he took over as Chief Minister, there was only one lab for testing in the state and the testing was done in small numbers. He said that there are currently seven labs working in the state, where the testing capacity of 1000 per day has been achieved. Along with all the government medical colleges in the state, the government has also directed the private medical colleges to start the testing facilities. Testing capacity is being increased. On Sunday, he said 1700 samples have been sent by plane to a Delhi Lab for testing. We are making 5000 PPE kits daily for Health workers and other teams. We will increase the number to 10000 per day. Also, masks etc are available in sufficient quantity. Hospitals have been identified as COVID-19 hospitals, which have sufficient number of beds and other facilities. Hydroxychloroquine tablets are being produced in the state. At the same time, we are distributing Ayurvedic, Homeopathic and Unani medicines in the villages to increase people’s immunity. So far, medicines have been distributed to more than 700,000 people.

Regular review of arrangements

The Chief Minister said that a core team has been constituted under his Chairmanship for regular review of the arrangements and daily meetings are conducted. Along with this, Crisis Management Groups have been formed at the district level. These include representatives of social organizations, and religious leaders along with the authorities, who are regularly reviewing the district wise situation.

3 months free fair price ration to people

Chouhan informed that the availability of food items and free food is being ensured to the poor and needy people of the state in every district during the Corona crisis. So far 5 crore 40 lakh fair price ration consumers have been provided 3 months free ration. In addition, one month’s free fair price ration has also been given 32 lakh other persons.

Salute to Corona Warriors

The Chief Minister said that he salutes all the staff of the health department including journalists, police, administration, social organizations, religious leaders, etc., who are working as Corona warriors to help the people during this crisis.

Corona is not an illness that cannot be cured

The Chief Minister said that Corona is not an illness that cannot be cured. This disease can be cured on noticing the symptoms immediately. Delay in treatment worsens the situation. Therefore, do not hide the symptoms but get the test done immediately.

Will ensure production and supply of medicines

The Chief Minister informed media-persons that there will be no shortage of medicines in the state and production of medicines will continues.

Supply of essential commodities will not get interrupted

The Chief Minister said that during the lockdown period, people will not face shortage of essential commodities. The supply of medicines, milk, vegetables, fruits, groceries and other essentials is being ensured through the administration. Arrangements are also being made to buy fruits and vegetables directly from the farmers through decentralized mandis outside the cities.

Regular Yoga-Pranayam-Balance Diet

The journalists praised Chief Minister Chouhan for working continuously as a warrior combating the Corona crisis and asked about his routine. The Chief Minister said that he wakes up at 5:30 in the morning and performs Yoga-Pranayam regularly. He takes balanced diet. remaining part of the day, he is constantly involved in corona related work from morning till night.

Will improve economic condition after lockdown

The Chief Minister gave the assurance that the economy of the state has been badly affected by the Corona crisis. The government is worried about the situation. He said that a high level committee has been constituted for this, which is constantly studying how to improve the economic condition of the state.
