New Delhi/Ranchi: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) led alliance that includes Congress and RJD, has emerged victorious in the general election to the Jharkhand State Assembly and is all set to form the new government with Hemant Soren as chief minister.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has emerged as the second largest party in a house of 81. The State Governor has asked outgoing Chief Minister Raghubar Das to remain as the care taker chief minister till the new government is sworn in.

All India Congress Committee in-charge for Jharkhand, RPN Singh said: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah did their best to turn people’s attention away from basic issues and the results have come as a verdict against BJP’s “arrogance and diversionary tactics”.
