Magnificent Madhya Pradesh: Pitching for big investment
Indore: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath today (18 October 2019) gave the categorical assurance that his government will ensure accountability and go all out to make Madhya Pradesh an investment -friendly state.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the opening of “Magnificent MP” Investment Summit at Brilliant Convention Centre here in Indore – also called the commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh.
He called upon the captains of industry to participate in the development of the state and help in creating new jobs. He went on to underscore that today’s event is not a platform for signing of MoUs in which deals worth thousands of crores are made and are not converted into ground rality. The Chief Minister said that the goal is to bring in real investment, create employment opportunities so that the state becomes economically strong and every section of the society is able to flourish.
Nath said that in the last ten months we have put in extra efforts and achieved the impossible. The property guidelines have been reformed to boost the real estate sector. Indore-Bhopal metro work has been started. Permit and license fee of colonizers have been reduced from 27 percent to 5 percent.The Chief Minister said that in the field of infrastructure development, Bhopal, Indore Industrial Corridor is being developed. Under it, a satellite city will also be developed. R.R.T.S will be arranged to connect Bhopal and Indore to metro.
The Chief Minister informed that the government will provide additional facilities in the tourism sector in addition to the special facilities to the branded hotels. The Global Skill Park is being set up in the state in collaboration with the ITI Singapore. This will help in boosting skill development. He further announced that Madhya Pradesh would be the first state in the country, where energy storage capacity will be established. As many as 2 lakh solar pumps have been made available in the agriculture sector. Solar power at low rates will be made available to the industries. In the case of land transfer, instead of taking permission, self-assessment is being encouraged. Along with this, the diversion charges are also being rationalised.
The Chief Minister further said that wide range reforms are being undertaken in the procedure of government and administration to create an industry friendly environment.
Welcoming the industrialists at the Magnificent Madhya Pradesh Summit, State Chief Secretary S.R. Mohanty said we want to make Madhya Pradesh, a prosperous and happy state with the partnership of the investors. In addition to agriculture, Madhya Pradesh is rich in forest and mineral wealth. The state government has made efforts to simplify rules so that those who want to set up industry in the state should not face any difficulty.

On this occasion, Chairman of Reliance Group and country’s top industrialist Mukesh Ambani said that Madhya Pradesh has got a visionary and dedicated leader in CM Kamal Nath. Taking part in Magnificent MP through webcast he said that during his last meeting with the Chief Minister in Mumbai, he was amazed by his commitment towards investment.
Ambani said that he wanted to take part in this prestigious event but due to the Reliance Group’s board meeting, he was unable to attend the programme. Congratulating the Chief Minister for the implementation of the pro-investors policy, he said that he has had special attachment with Madhya Pradesh. The jungle, wildlife and ecology of the state is very significant for its economy, he said adding Madhya Pradesh is the only state in the country, where Jio data is used the maximum compared to Korea, Germany and France.
Chairman of India Cement N. Srinivasan said that in his 50 years of professional life, he has never seen a leader like Kamal Nath. He is a leader who has recognized the power of Madhya Pradesh and has a clear vision for the development of the State.
Chairman of Godrej Group Adi Godrej said that the development policy of Chief Minister Kamal Nath will encourage investment in Madhya Pradesh. He also said that he has had a deep relationship with the State. He will invest in expansion activities in future too, he added.
Chairman of the Kirloskar Group Vikram Kirloskar said that a clear impression of Kamal Nath’s work, pace and vision is reflected in the Magnificent MP Summit. He is a political leader, who does what he says.
Commending the focus of the Magnificent Madhya Pradesh Summit, Chairman of ITC Sanjeev Puri said that it is a positive indication for Madhya Pradesh that special attention is being paid to food processing and agriculture-based industries. He appreciated the vision of the Chief Minister for attracting investment and industrial growth. Puri gave the assurance that he would cooperate fully with the state.
Managing Director of Lapp India Marc Jarrault said that new opportunities of investment are emerging in the state under the guidance and leadership of Chief Minister Kamal Nath. He went on to underscore that resources, especially water and electricity, are in abundance to boost investment in the state.
The Inaugural Ceremony was also addressed among others by the Chairman of Sun Pharmaceuticals Dilip Sanghvi, Chairman of HEG Ravi Jhunjhunwala and Director General of CII Chandrajeet Banerjee.
