New Delhi: It turned out to be a flop show for the Indian trap shooters as Kynan Chenai and Prithviraj Tondaiman tried their best in tough scoring conditions but failed to qualify for the a finals and that ended country’s challenge in the Trap competition of ISSF World Cup Shotgun in Lahiti, Finland in the qualifying stage.
On competition day three, Kynan shot rounds of 24 and 23, his best performance over three days, while Prithviraj had rounds of 20 and 24 to end up with scores of 114 and 113 out of 125 to finish in 23rdand 29thspots respectively.
Germany’s Andreas Loew led the 157-strong field with a 119, relatively a sedate score by international standards. The final and sixth qualifying spot went at 117, which meant Kynan and Prithviraj lost out in the end by three and four hits respectively.
