Hong Kong: About 100, 000 Hong Kong democracy activists staged a huge protest rally here on Sunday defying warnings from Beijing.
The demonstrations continuing over the last ten weeks have brought normal life to standstill in Hong Kong. A hardline minority among the protesters has been indulging in violence and was also engaged in street battle with the riot police.
With President Xi Jinping facing his first major crisis, mainland China has adopted a tough posture. Armoured carriers and trucks, bringing military troops have already reached Hong Kong from the border in Shenzhen and the sity is in state of seige while the protesters mood remains unrelenting.
