2019 Australian Federal Election: Scott Morrison leads Liberal-national coalition to victory

Canberra: In the closely contested Australian election, Prime Minister Scott Morrison, who went to the poll on the plank of tax cuts and strengthening the country’s economy, has miraculously led the Liberal-National coalition to victory against the Australian Labour Party that has conceded defeat.

“I have always believed in miracles” Morrison said in Sydney. Morrison was sworn in as Australia’s 30th Prime Minister on 24 August 2018. He has represented the electorate of Cook in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire since 2007.

The exit polls had predicted victory for the opposition Labour party .

Australian Electoral Commission projection (late on Saturday). The fonal result will be announced in the coming days.
