Pulwama encounter: Three terrorists, including a Pakistani JeM commander, killed; Four Army personnel martyred
Srinagar: Four Indian Army personnel, including a Major, were today martyred in an 18-hour encounter that led to the elimination of three top Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists, including Kamran, a Pakistani commander of the Jaish terror group linked to the February 14 Pulwama attack.
The security personnel martyred today are Major DS Dhondial, and Havaldar Sheo Ram, and sepoys Hari Singh and Ajay Kumar. South Kashmir Range DIG Amit Kumar and the Army Brigade Commander of that area and two Army personnel were injured in today’s firing by terrorists.
The encounter between the security forces and the JeM terrorists began early Monday morning during a Cordon and Search Operation following the terrorist attack on a CRPF convoy at Awantipora on Srinagar-Jammu national highway last Thursday. Forty CRPF personnel were martyred in that dastardly attack.
