Srinagar: At least 40 CRPF personnel were killed in Jammu and Kashmir when a vehicle was blown up in a terrorist attack on the Srinagar-Jammu highway in Awantipora area of the Pulwama district on Thursday.
The casualties are likely to go up.
According to available information, a CRPF convoy was targeted with a car-borne IED vehicle.
Jaish-e-Mohammed has claimed responsibility for the incident.
The terrorist identified by the Police as Adil Ahmad from Kakapora in Pulwama rammed the explosives laden vehicle into the convoy carrying the CRPF personnel. Adil had joined the Jaish-Mohammed in 2018.
