Bhopal: Madhya Prasdesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has recommended CBI probe into the death of a journalist in Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh.
Sandeep Sharma, who was reporting for a national TV news channel and investigating illegal sand mining in the Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh has died after he was allegedly crushed by a dumper on Monday.
Prior to his death, Sharma had informed the police that there was threat to his life. He had even accused a police officer of being hand in glove with the mining mafia. The police officer in question was transferred to Bhopal after a news item in this regard after the broadcast of a news by his TV channel. The news that a police officer was involved with the mining mafia was also published by a section of the print media.
A CCTV footage that is now in the public domain clearly shows how a dumper had swerved to the left and crushed to death Sandeep Sharma when he was riding a motorbike.
After the CCTV footage went viral, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had announced that there will be a thorough investigation and anyone found guilty will not be spared.
