Bhopal: IT giant microsoft is being honoured by Madhya Pradesh Government for its creative contribution towards ensuring more people have access to information technology through Hindi.
The Madhya Pradesh Department of Culture honours IT companies for outstanding contribution in developing the software for search engines, web designing, digital language laboratory, computer programming, social media and digital audio visual editing.
The decision to honor Microsoft has been taken on the recommendations of a special jury.
The Award presentation ceremony, which will coincide with Hindi Diwas on 14 September 2017, will be held at the Tribal Museum in the State capital. The Award carries Rs. 100,000 in cash and a citation. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will present the Award.
Significantly, all key MP Government sectors are using Hindi softwares. It is an entirely a different matter that questions are being asked on the efficiency and the level of output when it comes to the disposal of revenue cases in the State with the help of a dedicated digital software. This is a matter that figured prominently when the chief Minister addressed the district collectors on 7 September and the senior officers had to face the chief minister’s ire on this count. The same issue was also discussed with deep concern at a recent executive meeting of the State unit of the ruling BJP.
The other Hindi Awards to be presented on 14 September are Gunkar Award, Nirmal Verma Award, Father Kamil Bulke Award and Hindi Seva Samman.
