Quetta (Balochistan): At least 13 people, includng six policemen, were killed and 20 others were injured when a suicide bomber blew up his car near the office of the regional IGP Ehsan Mehboob on Gulistan Road here.
The blast occurred around 8:45 am in an area considered as a high alert zone. Today people were observing Jummat-ul-Wida of Ramazan and special security arrangements had been made in the Baloch capital to maintain peace on this occasion
Balochistan government spokesperson Anwarul Haq Kakar told Geo News that the suicide bomber tried to break a security perimetre to target the police offices but blew up when policemen security guards tried to stop him. Negating the fact that the trouble-torn Baloch region is facing the problem of insurgency from Islamist militants and the Baloch nationalits, the regional government spokesperson blamed India for the blast.
