Farmers’ death in police firing: MP Government suspends IAS officer SK Singh

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Government today suspended IAS officer Swatantra Kumar Singh, who was till recently the Mandsaur district collector.

The then Superintendent of Police O P Tripathi and another police officer Saikrishna S Thota, the then Mandsaur city superintendent of police, also have been suspended along with SK Singh.

Singh was removed from Mandsaur and posted as Deputy Secretary of Madhya Pradesh after six farmers had died in police firing during the farmers’ agitation at Pipalia Mandi in Mandsaur district on 6 June 2017.

During the suspension period, Singh’s headquarters will be General Administrative Department at Mantralaya in the State capital.

Dr. Sunil Kumar appointed V-C of Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishwavidyalaya

Chancellor and Governor of Madhya Pradesh Om Prakash Kohli has appointed Dr. Sunil Kumar, Additional Secretary, Department of Technical Education and Skill Development, Government of Madhya Pradesh as the Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal.

Dr. Sunil Kumar’s tenure as Vice-Chancellor will be four years from the date of taking charge.
